In a bold and reckless escalation, Iran-backed Houthi terrorists launched a massive strike on the USS Harry S. Truman, firing 18 ballistic and cruise missiles along with drone attacks in retaliation for President Donald Trump’s decisive military action. The Houthis, emboldened by years of weak U.S. leadership under Biden, are now threatening to target all American warships in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea—but President Trump has made it clear: their aggression will not go unanswered.

Trump Restores America’s Strength

On Saturday, President Trump, staying true to his “peace through strength” doctrine, ordered a powerful military response against the Houthi rebels in Yemen. With strategic precision, U.S. forces obliterated key Houthi terror positions, sending a direct message that America will no longer tolerate unchecked aggression in the region.

Trump, known for his unwavering commitment to national security, monitored the operation alongside top military officials. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, appearing on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, emphasized that the Biden-era weakness is over.

“An era of peace through strength is back,” Hegseth declared.

He underscored how Biden allowed over 100 Houthi attacks on U.S. and commercial vessels with little to no response, enabling the terrorists to become more brazen.

“This campaign is about freedom of navigation and restoring deterrence,” Hegseth continued.
“We will not be nice about it. This is not the Biden administration. The message is clear: we will come after the Houthis until they stop shooting at our ships—and Iran better stay out of it.”

Houthis Lash Out as Trump Hits Back Harder

As expected, the Iran-backed Houthis retaliated with a direct attack on the USS Harry S. Truman, claiming responsibility for a barrage of missiles and drone strikes. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the offensive and vowed to escalate attacks on U.S. warships.

Meanwhile, Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi expanded his threats, now targeting Israeli shipping in a desperate bid to exert pressure. He also declared all U.S. ships banned from the Red Sea, an audacious move that will likely invite even stronger retaliation from Trump’s administration.

Trump’s Warning: Overwhelming Lethal Force Will Be Used

President Trump has made his position crystal clear: any further aggression will be met with overwhelming and lethal force.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump reaffirmed his commitment to keeping critical maritime corridors open and securing U.S. interests:

“We will use overwhelming lethal force until the Houthis cease their attacks on shipping along the crucial maritime corridor in the Red Sea.”

The extent of damage to the USS Harry S. Truman remains undisclosed, but one thing is certain—Trump will not sit idly by while America’s enemies attempt to challenge its dominance.

With strong leadership back in the White House, America is no longer on the defensive. The Houthis, and their Iranian backers, have been warned: stand down or face the full force of U.S. military power.
