Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, NYPD officer, and conservative firebrand, has officially been sworn in as the Deputy Director of the FBI under President Donald Trump’s administration. His appointment signals a major shift in the agency’s leadership, as Bongino has long been an outspoken critic of political bias within federal law enforcement.

Bongino’s Mission: Clean House and Restore Trust

Upon taking office, Bongino vowed to restore the FBI’s credibility and eliminate the weaponization of law enforcement that plagued the agency in recent years.

“It is an honor to serve as Deputy Director for the Federal Bureau of Investigation at such a critical time for our nation. The American people deserve a justice system that is transparent, accountable, and committed to the rule of law,” Bongino posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.

A photo accompanying the post showed Bongino being sworn in by FBI Director Kash Patel, another Trump ally who has been leading efforts to reform the agency and root out corruption.

“My promise to you is that I will work tirelessly to help restore integrity, eliminate political bias, and ensure the FBI remains dedicated to its core mission of protecting the United States and upholding the Constitution,” Bongino added.

Trump’s Endorsement: A Fighter for Justice

President Donald Trump handpicked Bongino for the role, calling him a patriot willing to serve his country at a crucial moment.

“He was a member of the New York Police Department (New York’s Finest!), a highly respected Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is now one of the most successful podcasters in the country—something he is willing and prepared to give up in order to serve,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last month.

Bongino’s decision to step away from his hit podcast, “The Dan Bongino Show,” is a testament to his commitment to the mission of restoring the FBI’s integrity and removing political operatives embedded within the agency.

Support from Conservative Allies

The announcement has been met with strong support from conservative lawmakers and officials.

“The FBI is so back,” Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) posted in response to Bongino’s appointment.

FBI Director Kash Patel also welcomed Bongino into his new role, posting on X:

“Welcome. Let’s get to work.”

Honoring Fallen FBI Agents

Shortly after his swearing-in, Bongino visited the FBI’s Wall of Honor to pay tribute to agents who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The official FBI X account shared the moment, stating:

“After his swearing-in ceremony as FBI Deputy Director, Dan Bongino paid his respects at the Wall of Honor, honoring the brave members of the FBI who made the ultimate sacrifice and reflecting on the legacy of those who paved the way in the pursuit of justice and security.”

A New Era for the FBI

With Trump’s Justice Department taking action to clean up corruption, Bongino’s appointment is just the latest step in rebuilding trust in federal law enforcement. His no-nonsense approach, background in law enforcement, and deep commitment to constitutional principles have made him the ideal candidate to help restore integrity to an agency that has been mired in scandal.

As Bongino and Patel begin their work, Americans can expect a tougher, more accountable FBI—one that is focused on justice, not politics.
